Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and social distancing, we were able to take part in the annual Veterans Day services at Atria at Foster Square.
Club members spent over 10 hours helping the Atria resident director set up the event by introducing her to Post 105, and by rounding up a crew to fill her Veterans Day Program. You can download part 1 and part 2 of the program to see the full range of the ceremony that took place.
Peninsular Special Interest Lions Club (PSILC) Clubs Veterans Committee, Elmer Madrid, Kathie Heap, Eleanor and Bill Britter also provided blankets, socks, coats, masks, and food for 60 Veterans and their spouses.
The blankets were from National Charity League Crystal Springs through an organized grant by Kathie and Sophie H, Mira D, and Avery C. Big support of Facemasks by Laurel T. and Kathie H.
The club was also able to raise a $1,500 donation for the veterans.

We received this email from Kristin Thomas following the event:
I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and your time to help make our Veterans Day Tribute so special for our Veterans. As I walk through the halls of our community, I am stopped by everyone I pass to let me know how honored and special they felt. Many have had tears and said they have never been honored in this way before. It took a village to make this happen. I’m so happy to be a part of your village. You all are amazing people!
We would like to do something for you and the PSI Lions Club. Please let me know if we can make a contribution, contribute to a holiday dinner, or any other needs you may have. I also would appreciate you sending me your address. We have a card for you.
Thank you again and God Bless You,
Kristin Thomas ????Resident Engagement Director
